aries rising/sun/moon :: princess of wands // red clover
2 cycles in a row that you receive the princess of wands as your flame of guidance. 2 cycles in a row in which you are being guided toward alchemizing through the realization of your innate potential for self-direction. naturally, you have strong leadership qualities and the potential to influence those around you with the power of your creative and daring spirit. building upon the motion that has already been present, you are certainly continuing to move through old fears and beliefs that have proven to be limiting and stagnating. you are releasing these patterns, surely working toward becoming more of your true self. this may be frightening to some, even yourself, but the message here is that this is ultimately what will set you free. the princess of wands showing up for you two months is a row is very telling - this indicates that the work taking place is due to bring results meant to last. the progress made at this time is very internal but will set up the foundation for years to come. be deliberate and be clear about what your visions are and how to work toward them in a way that is going to propel you closer to your heart's desire and your true essence.
when working with the princess of wands, it is very important to especially pay attention to patterns of fear-based thinking and the aspects of your reality which trigger them. you may decide to sit with one fear at a time, taking a day or two to subject it to analysis and investigation. where does this fear come from? who in your life awakens it? how often do you interact in the world with this fear as part of your foundation? what can you do to begin this release and uprooting process? these questions will prove to be useful as your inquire into the contents of your subconscious mind. the princess of wands is here to lend you her strength and the power of self-confidence and clarity of direction. once you have fully become cognizant of these things, move into the phase of actually letting this fear go. a mental image could help here as the princess of wands is also a highly imaginative energy. put your fear in a bottle; wish it transmutation; make the image of that bottle small in your mind - so small you can barely see it; see yourself at the foot of the ocean's entrance asking the great mother for assistance in this next step; ask her for permission release your fears to her so that she can transform them into another more useful "thing" - she will not say no as she is the destroyer of illusions and will gladly help you become more free. you can throw your fears into the ocean, knowing the power inherent in such an element - let the symbolically consuming fire of fear be put out by the massive sea. it is time for you to become more whole within yourself by absolving aspects which have only served to inhibit your expression. it is time for you to know your true worth and act accordingly. the lessons may be challenging at times, but we know that once you make it to the other side, you will emerge with more coherence than ever before.
red clover is a medicine of great capacity. associated with the planet Mercury and the element of air, it is a protective and enhancing ally. red clover is indispensable during times when we feel unclear about our next steps or could potentially be paralyzed by the things which we are confronting. as a magical tool, sprinkling red clover around the home aids in the task of releasing old and outdated inner processes which no longer serve the path you are journeying through. during our Stellar Alchemy course, we will be focusing upon red clover as one of our companions throughout the cycle of Mercury. red clover is used for indigestion, which is a metaphor of one who is not fully processing what is within them. it is time for you to release, Aries. do not let your fears keep you small - you are meant to shine and really activate the powerful confidence that is so key to your growth.

taurus rising/sun/moon :: 7 of wands // cilantro
at this point, any external battles are reflections of the internal imbalance that you are moving with - stop fighting yourself. the message was very similar last month but now it is obvious that you are in the final stages of releasing this inner tension. in this particular image, a man holds a woman by both of her wrists, depicting a struggle - the woman is at the edge of a cliff with 7 stakes right behind her; if she falls off the cliff, she won't survive. at a distance, you see a lioness running toward the man as if to attack him and defend the woman. this is a clear message - there are elements in your environment or parts of yourself which are battling the more fluid aspects of you. this is about your creativity being stifled; perhaps you have tuned out your subconscious to the extent of not being fully aware of the messages which would otherwise inform your creative process; thus, you are out of alignment with your potential. lioness is a nocturnal creature, though she is very solar, energetically speaking. this truth speaks profoundly to an imbalance being present. this also is evident through the depiction of the masculine and feminine force in this image. where within your self are you battling one or the other of these two?
7 of wands is an key which shows up when there is some fear to be faced, when there is some work to be done, when you are at the mid-point of your journey through this element of fire. parts of you have been upgraded, but what is often disregarded about upgrades is the fact that they incite discomfort so as to enhance the improvement that is due to be integrated. 7 of wands, at this particular time, may also be speaking to the need for you to stand up for what you believe in and know to be right. this is not a time for you to cower out of fear of rejection or not being heard. that is part of the fear to be faced - sometimes to really get the quality of experience that you are in for, you have to first confront the barriers which stand in between you and what you are to experience. there is much guidance present to you at this time, primarily in the form of your own subconscious imprints and the ways in which working through these battles will shed more clarity upon your path. take stock of your inner reserves of strength and courage. there is great change in the air and the decisions you make during this time will prove to be momentous to your life. be true to yourself as you move forward - there is nothing more important that you standing fully in your power and working from a place of knowing who you are and what you advocate for. everything else, at this time, is second to that. do not let anything undermine you. when uncertain, tune into the wisdom of the lioness as a guiding spirit. also, the energy of cilantro comes in handy at this time.
cilantro is a plant medicine rich in capacity to eliminate toxic matter from the body. high in antioxidants, it is useful for boosting cellular rejuvenation by way of cleansing the body of agents which oxidize the cells. cilantro is associated with the element of fire, attesting to its extraordinary benefits in purging the body and energy of all that no longer serves it. magically, cilantro aids in both protection and purification (as attested by its physically medicinal qualities). in this light, cilantro allows us to be our true selves by way of strengthening the cleansing capacity of our bodies, eliminating anything that is not true to our whole selves.

gemini rising/sun/moon :: 2 of disks // milk thistle
something is stagnating, demanding to be broken down and made over. the 2 of disks come to us during times when 'things' need to be balanced out. a part of the scale needs to be replenished so that there is no tipping over or disequilibrium. the 2 of disks generally shows up as a sign of some shift needing to occur. this shift usually is within the realm of stabilizing one's material resources and security. this is also a sign that some change is impending and is due to occur soon. the image figures two feminine figures, one wearing a blue dress while the other wears a see-through dress, each holding a disk in their hands, each looking up toward the sky - these are clear signs of the need to balance the dense with the light to be able to actualize a lasting manifestation. the figures in the 2 of disks stand in a place of power though they seek guidance from higher places so as to assure a solid ground upon which to move; the power lies in having their disks off the ground and in their hands - there is something clear and tangible to work with yet delegations need to be made regarding how exactly to make some things happen. the 2 of disks is also known as "the lord of harmonious change" with its attribution to Capricorn and association with Jupiter - this is expansion through discipline, power through patience. this is about the lessons contained in the realm of time.
a notable part of this present journey lies in the fact that the energies depicted and symbolized are in some ways polarized: dark/light, up/down, in/out. these are in tune with alchemical elements which lead to adJUSTments to balance. the shifts made in the next two weeks to two months will be instructional upon a greater transformation which is taking place. within your gemini mind, there is a factor of duality playing out and the events proceeding from you will be externally reflecting this inner force. through all of this, your upper chakras are at work so the major aspects which will be affected at this time are your partnership with those who inform the work on your path, the way in which you communicate, and how you interact with your subconscious + use the contents within that space to create a reality. as advice, this key reminds you to balance your daily routine with spiritual work - take time to do the work around the self that is not so tangible. binaries abound at this time but they are teaching you something about how to unite energies which could conflict due to their apparent difference. all of this provides opportunities which will lend strength to make stable and secure external shifts that will expand and liberate you from the past stasis in your life. this is a card of change, the most important corrective in the universe, as it keeps transformation going - the combining of opposites makes diversity possible. for example if you combine blue with blue, you only get blue, but blue with red makes purple, and color is now diversified. energy alone is just everywhere and no-where at the same moment but energy combined with magnetism is form and thus time space. it is time to ground yourself into a 'different' reality.
milk thistle is a striking plant with many healing properties. on a physical level, it has been widely noted to help treat the liver and clear out toxicity. it is powerful enough to clear mycotoxins (toxins from poisonous fungi) out of the body, making it useful as first aid in situations where such could potentially occur. protective is a main characteristic of milk thistle. as you move in this time of both regaining balance and combining opposites, milk thistle helps to better determine constructive action by aiding in the release of toxins which prevent clarity.

cancer rising/sun/moon :: (8) strength // nettle
in most decks, the strength card appears with a woman holding the mouth of a lion so as to calm or tame him from consuming or devouring what he otherwise would. in this deck, the figure featured is depicted as a woman's body with a lioness head, upon her head is a serpent and behind the serpent is a red solar disk - this entity has raised their passions to its highest forms. she holds an ankh in her left hand and a staff in her right. the lion sits at her feet with another serpent sitting near where his heart will be. behind both of them, there is a fire, yet there they are, undisturbed by it. the strength card is another instance of alchemy in the major arcana of the tarot. the strength card shows up when we are doing the work of aligning with our greater purpose. in broad perspective, strength is about using discipline and the power of your thoughts to direct your experience in the way that you want and need it to go. beyond desire, this card is about awakening aspects of self which are greater in tune with the infinite. this could manifest in a variety of ways, but attention and awareness of the immediate experience proves to be instrumental in this time of inner elevation. the lion and lioness are both symbols of the sun though being nocturnal in their ways. this is also about balancing opposing factors within the psyche to achieve a unified perspective and, furthermore, output. the strength card comes to us when we are sharpening or need to sharpen our sense-ability. through this awakening, you are able to refine your creativity and become a master of what it is that you make visible, starting from within.
a good exercise in this work involves a meditation with the senses. sit down somewhere that is comfortable for you. first, pay attention to your breathing and bring that to a calm and smooth pace. make your breaths as deep as possible. take your time with them. pay attention to your body, the sensations and variations in temperature at different parts - what is your body telling you? once you have gained insight into this inquiry, go further - expand your awareness. deliberately engage one sense at a time. what do you see? pay attention to the smallest details of what surrounds you. you'll know that you are making some progress when you begin to notice things you didn't realize were there before. now shift your focus to your hearing. listen closely to sounds near and far. let that amplify the knowledge gained from what you've already seen. now, what do you feel? take inventory of both physical and emotional 'feelings' together, then separate the two - notice how one informs the other. staying in your body, pay attention to the tastes and smells that occur at this time. after you've gone through each sense, individually, put them together and ask yourself - "what information am i receiving on a psychic level? and how is this spoken to by the imprints that are otherwise 'physical' or grounded in the more immediate reality?" this journey through your senses should awaken a level of control within you, a keynote of the strength arcanum. the awakening of our creative serpentine fire (kundalini) is incited by this depth of awareness and recognition. make a point of practicing this meditation regularly; you will be fine-tuning your inner world into augmented sensitivity through the expansion of your perception.
during times when both vulnerability and fortitude is required, nettle has proven to be an indispensable aid. long used for its nutritional content and overall healing power, nettle is also great with protective and consecrative properties. consecrate self before entering into meditation as deep as working with the senses in the way mentioned above. while becoming open to influences through our sense-ability, it is advisable to shield the aura and protect one's self from vibrations which we may come into contact with through such a process. one way to use nettle is by ingesting it as a infusion, but it is equally helpful if one uses it for smudging. because of its dynamic potential, we will be talking about nettle during our Stellar Alchemy course, as an herb with energies of both Mars and the Sun. nettle has never failed at anything it is said to be good for. this ally is equally strong and strengthening.
leo rising/sun/moon :: (7) the chariot // parsley
the chariot represents the principle that the will functions only when the whole being is behind it. this is a card about struggles and how we face them. the promise in the chariot is the ability to overcome any struggles with honesty, determination, and perseverance. this card is full of hope and encouragement. the chariot, alongside various other cards, is a symbol of the victory achieved through the combination of opposing factors. the changes that ensue from this victory will prove to further the initial rewards and enhance any actions taken to inform future endeavors. this is a card of establishing a healthier connection with our egos. the strength card (#8) is about 'soft' control whereas the chariot card is about directed and controlled action to ensure a very specific result. you ought to take inventory of how exactly you intend to propel yourself to make it to your next destination. another key factor of the chariot is about mastering emotions, curbing impulses, and resisting temptations. again, a lot of the work for many of us in this time involves transmutation and transformation. there are old ways of being and doing which are no longer serving anyone. for you, this is around the routines that inform your daily living. you may have to make some adjustments to the ways in which you interact with self on a regular basis and the results or lack of results that this is bringing into your life. if you have kept telling yourself, "tomorrow, I will do this or that differently", it is time to stop waiting for tomorrow and make it happen now. breakthroughs are promised in the restructuring of our habits.
the chariot is a profoundly concentrated energy, one with sharp focus and acute vision. if this does not resonate with your present stance, then you are being incited to work toward that. this is an activation that will aid you in motions toward virtuosity. your inner wizard is being awakened but you must remain unwavering in whatever you determine must happen to reach this level of dexterity. real shifts do not happen by coincidence or with no awareness. sometimes we are within the influence of celestial aspects that make it easier, but the below aspect of these things must also be in alignment with what the above is trying to make happen. you are the below as you rise in authority of self. now is not the time for you to be half-hearted in what you ought to be doing to exact certain vibrational transits. guidance is offered to you in a variety of forms but this is primarily evident in your own inner alignments. random thoughts may occur, dreams may happen which will show you a glimpse of what is best for you at this time. there may be ties to sever or patterns to alter. whatever has to transpire for you to be within the reach of the promise of this card, make it happen. you will have time to rest, but right now you must act in the direction of triumph. in these moments, it is okay to put yourself first. do not let doubt overwhelm you or stop you from the execution of your willpower.
for such stages, parsley is perfect. parsley, along with other medicinals such as ginger and cayenne, is useful to speed up healing and also to catalyze the actions of an herbal concoction. as a signature of swift movement, the chariot is one which necessitates a kind of quickness as we work with it - parsley literally and metaphorically helps with this. to use parsley, you can add it to your soups, salads, or even juices, or you can make a simple (single-plant) infusion with it, communing directly with the awakening and cleansing properties of this ally. parsley will thrust you into victory by increasing your strength, vitality, and stamina.
virgo rising/sun/moon :: 10 of disks // slippery elm
in short words, this is a very powerful card. in the image, we see 7 figures wearing colors of both the higher and lower chakras, some standing, some sitting, some looking more like students and others looking more like teachers, but altogether they share richness and wealth. one of the figures holds up a white mantle with 10 disks displayed in the shape of the spheres forming the tree of life. this is deep. in the tarot, the disks or pentacles are seen as features of the material/external world, but in this card it is quite evident that the disks acquired are through the synthesis of having balanced levels within the self. manifestations attest to the workings that have been occurring; this is a card that teaches us that the harvest we gather in our lives is the end result of all that we have put into living - and more importantly, how we have used the riches at our disposal. we make our own realities with every thought, every deed, every wish. and when we direct our energies constructively we shall arrive - as a perfectly natural consequence - at the 10 of disks. of course, if we direct our energies destructively, we'll find ourselves with the 10 of wands, or the 10 of swords - neither of which are happy cards. but with the 10 of disks, you are put on notice that you should follow through with thoughts and inklings to act in certain ways according to your greater destiny. there is a warning connected to this card though. when we have created sufficient wealth to make ourselves comfortable and contented, if we have a surplus, then we must make that surplus work. we cannot expect energy to flow freely in our lives if we hoard it, and try to hang on to it. this is as pointless as trying to save up the breeze so that it will blow on a stuffy day. there are some things in life you cannot clutch tight in the hand without crushing the value out of them.
if this card comes through for you in a more general way, it re-assures that financial and material matters are proceeding well, and that there is no cause for concern. if it comes up as a more spiritually-based message, then you need to be applying the underlying principles to your lives - so in this case, you need to be letting your inner wealth show, in order to manifest that into your lives. it is only logical. often, comments on this card warn that once sufficient wealth has been attained, you should make sure you distribute excess fairly and generously. this is because energy which remains unused eventually corrupts and dissipates. but there's another aspect to the right use of energy which is not so often addressed. this is to do with the way the will works. there's a common misunderstanding about the use of will among us - we tend to think that applying will is something that we only do consciously. this is incorrect. the human will works all the time. it runs around creating whatever seems most pressing in your mind. this has a rather unfortunate side effect. for many people, the most pressing emotions and responses in their minds are connected to fear, pain, unhappiness, or deprivation. once seized by feelings such as these, it can be very difficult to keep your mind off them, and engage in positive thoughts, affirmations, and actions. with this in mind, the 10 of disks teaches us an invaluable lesson - by bringing our thoughts and emotions to a conscious level, and by making positive choices about how we direct those energies, we create our world. so we need to decide what we what, and then think about that, not linger on the things that we don't want. and we need to trust our own energy to fly out into the universe and come back to us completed. in this way, we are endlessly abundant.
slippery elm is a soothing demulcent which calms not only the respiratory system but also the digestive system. it is a rich mucilaginous herb which also aids in relieving inflammation of the kidneys and bladder. rich in phytonutrients, it is a preferred plant ally for infusions and herbal syrups for immune-boosting magic. in otherwise magical traditions, slippery elm has been used to stop slander, gossip, and destructive communications. turning this quality inward and considering the aspect of the 10 of disks for you at this time, slippery elm is imperative as a partner to reduce hurtful self-talk and the repetition of thoughts which only stop you from being fully in your bounty.
libra rising/sun/moon :: (15) the devil // red root
do not let the idea of "the devil" frighten you. this card is one of the most healing keys in the deck. it is the element that shows up before illusions are shattered and we are reborn anew with greater lucidity and true awareness of self. we are no longer bound by obsessions that keep us stuck in patterns which are primarily detrimental. before all of this, we have to journey through the underworld and see our shadow. the devil is the personification of the animal, instinctual, and even "bestial" parts of us. when the devil card appears, most people tend to feel that there's trouble ahead - and often they associate this card with the doing of evil, and therefore fear it as well. but, in some very important ways, this is a misunderstanding of the principle the card truly represents in life. certainly it can appear to indicate evil acts, trouble, strife and conflict - but on most occasions we have more control of events than we might at first believe. and it is our lack of belief that causes most of the problems. you see, one of the inner mysteries of this card is that it relates to our basic instinctual needs - those things which confirm to us that, like it or not, we are animals. our survival needs, like hunger, thirst, protection, warmth, safety are ruled by the card, as are our sexual desires and needs. however, for some mysterious reason we have allowed ourselves to become separated from many of our base-line instincts, even sometimes relating in a deceiving or distorted fashion toward them. the big message is that our ability to think has gotten in our own way here. as a result, we build multitudes of problems around what should be the fulfillment of our own animal instincts - eating disorders, sexual disorders, alcoholism - the list is long. even if we don't actually have a disorder as such, we can have hang-ups, inhibitions, insecurities, fears.
the call for you in this time is to look deeply at your responses and feelings about this area of instinctual response. look into your fears, and try to see if they have any basis in reality. if you find inhibitions in these basic areas, try to examine them. locate their source and then try to let go and move on. remove the restrictions and limitations that narrow the boundaries of your horizon. the main thing to keep in mind at this time is that by shifting your viewpoint and perspective, you help to shift the way you feel about the things that encompass this domain. affirm, "i am free to do as i choose", and further choose those things which inform your more holistic processing. experiences may present themselves to ground you into the reality of what you could be doing at this time to improve your situation - some of these may feel more humbling than others. aggregate your energy in the 'right' direction and allow the shift in frequency to occur. you are shedding old ways of being with and thinking about yourself; you are releasing the constructs that have contributed to inner imbalances. this may feel heavy at times, but staying resolute in crossing over to the other side will be a rewarding feat.
there are allies which present themselves to help us uproot old forms, and red root is one of them. red root is an aid to the lymphatic system and the spleen which combats the inflammations present in this system which would lead to prolonged infection. when the lymphatic system is clogged, dead cellular material accumulates in the body leading to a wide array of 'scary' issues. using red root as a tonic in a detox program (up to 2 weeks) can be very beneficial for general systematic detoxification and to uproot old and stuck energy out of our systems. working with this ally just in meditation can also help to treat the aura and any holes which are allowing distorted information to seep in.
scorpio rising/sun/moon :: 2 of swords // coltsfoot
the 2 of swords in the tarot deck is a sigh of relief. this is the lord of peace or harmony. the appearance of this card indicates that there may have previously been some conflict but it is now coming to a resolution - or at the very least, you are finding more balance within yourself and if it is not yet being exhibited externally, it soon will be. the 2 of swords implies that a difficult or painful situation is coming to a settlement and a decision is being made to allow differences to be differences and commune with what is still in harmony or alignment with the "other". friendships are being rebuilt, old wounds are being healed. at an inner level, the 2 of swords really comes into its own for it marks the period of tranquillity and calmness that can arise when we have finally made difficult decisions and acted upon them. often it will come up to show that, now we have got to grips with our confusion, we can rest and recover. the card will also come up to show that we have let go of old fears or anxieties that were holding us back. it's a still card indicating a time to rest and recuperate. in the image, we exchange our sword/words with the other in a way that is clear and real. we do not need to be passive aggressive or mask our inner world to make the other comfortable. the communication can be open and constructive.
looking more closely at the elements in this image, one sees that there is a sprig of rosemary on the floor in front of the two figures whom are communicating. rosemary as medicine is exceptional to illuminate the mind and aid in "straightening" things out. rosemary is a medicine of the sun, providing brightness of thinking and being - in this spirit, the 2 of swords comes to us with promise of transparency and comprehensibility. this is a key which advises us to climb to the high ground in order to get a perspective, particularly on any emotional difficulties that we might have. sometimes, a conflict bogs us down so badly in our reactions that we find it difficult to achieve an objective view. instead we wallow about, knee deep in hurt feelings and negativity, never able to get an overview. yet if we can just move our position a little, see the center of the conflict, often we perceive the whole situation more clearly. and once we manage that, a way through the tangle becomes apparent. when we can see that pathway we know what we need to do, and it's easy to see what's really important and what is rubbish that we collected along the way. so on this day working with the 2 of swords, if there are any issues about which you feel emotionally sore and unhappy, make a deliberate and conscious effort to get to the high ground, above the situation.
visionary qualities are effective in this time. along with the magick of rosemary, coltsfoot has long been used for increase psychic awareness and visions so that we may see from a broader context. to enhance the visionary aspects of coltsfoot, it can be mixed with mugwort, aniseed, dandelion, and bay leaves to induce prophecy (when ingested) or promote the clearing up of mental troubles (when burned and used as smudging incense). it can even be combined with rosemary before a meeting with someone whom you have had conflict with to ensure that the communications happen more smoothly upon having aligned yourself with this more objective innerstanding of the situation.
sagittarius rising/sun/moon :: king of swords // horsetail
a mighty energy to follow your movement through justice, the king of swords comes through like a lightening bolt, shifting us into awakening with the power of words and the mind. the king of swords is a highly perceptive and intuitive entity. his rides his horse, in the clouds, surrounded by crows, as he holds his sword. this king is a vessel of higher mysteries. in all his elusive yet ethereal nature, the king of swords is an energy that needs to be kept in check - it is powerful and can be angered if badly placed. with more fatal aspects working with the king of swords, one can be pre-disposed to seeking revenge when feeling spited. yet assuming the best qualities of this element, this king is one which commands attention with his great presence and authoritative modes of communication. assimilating the archetype into our being, this card brings in a swift, bright energy which clears our heads, allowing us to see right the way to the heart of things, undistracted by clutter or red herrings. here we can 'cut to the chase' so to speak, avoiding any of the tempting, but wasteful, side issues that may come up around important issues. if you flow well with this energy, you'll finding yourself thinking quickly and clearly, finding unexpected solutions to apparently intractable problems. matters which had, until now, refused to yield their solutions, will suddenly start willingly spitting them out, so you can clear several obstacles from your path with the king of swords.
intuition plays quite a strong role here, too, as you move into closer touch with your psychic ability, thereby accessing answers to awkward questions which you had before felt frustrated by. accordingly, pick out the things which have been giving you headaches in the last little while. spend a little time (not too much) considering the apparent obstacles and difficulties of the problem. then forget it. at some point during the day, a solution should quite simply pop into your head. also keep a close watch on your dreams overnight - these may contain the answers you seek. you can probably get away with dealing with two medium serious problems - but if you have one BIG one, only concentrate on that. also be alert to messages and hints coming through the normal patterns of life. sometimes you'll get explanations from the most unexpected sources. affirm to yourself: "every 'problem' contains the seed of its own resolution". and move with that knowing throughout your day. the truth of these resolutions will not evade you. let yourself flow with the grace that your inner communications are just as important as your outer. as symbolically as the king rides his horse, the plant medicine of horsetail will help you ride swiftly through times of uncertainty.
horsetail is strengthening and a great deal of its virtue is in its content of silica as an ally for both hair and eyes (crown and 3rd eye). used in our Eyebright Elixir, horsetail not only awakens inner vision but also provides the fortitude needed to strengthen resolve and define boundaries. it helps to cleanse unwanted rubble and emotional debris from the system. if you have or purchase our Eyebright Elixir, we recommend using it prior to tackling a more difficult task. you can even employ it ceremoniously to enhance clear thinking and stimulate brighter vision. horsetail is one of the main herbs we will be covering in our journey through the Stellar Alchemy course.
capricorn rising/sun/moon :: king of disks // gotu kola
the king of disks is in perfect alignment with your general dispositions, dear capricorn. with the king of disks we see a person who is deeply committed to practical matters in life - work, career, home and family are the major spheres of influence. this person is diligent, hard-working. and pays great attention to detail. the progress of his or her life is a steady, sure development of ongoing projects, which they work through with great industriousness and perseverance. this card often comes up to represent a quiet person, whose approach to life is measured and calm. however it's as well not to be taken in by the sturdy exterior. disks people have a capacity for deep and boundless passion - they just don't shout too loudly about it. whilst life with them may not be a roller-coaster ride, you will surely know what to expect, and what you can count on. this is the energy that you are to continue to work with through this cycle - be yourself, but know that efforts bring rewards so put in work toward further refinement. this is a good time to take inventory of your material position. it may feel a little boring, but these moments call for you to analyze your finances and areas where encouraging self-improvement, even in minor ways, will aid in your material expansion. you could also discover a shortfall or something you've overlooked. and, at best, you could stumble across something important and rewarding.
it may also be edifying to spend some time assessing the ways in which you spend your money, and decide whether it's going the way you want it to. often you'll get a fresh perspective on something that you had taken for granted before. as you take stock of all these things, the following questions may aid the inquiry and take it deeper: where in your life can imagination add an element of enhancement to any rigidity that is present? how often do you take time to care for your physical and spiritual self in the way that you care for your material assets? what are the tools that you need to move into the next level of wealth and abundance in your life? how does your external development reveal the strengthens that you can bring into your inner world? sit with these as you sit with the general inventory of your affairs. another important note when dealing with the king of disks is that it is advised that you do not forget the people around you who have served as a system of support and confidence on your voyage. this is as much a time for you to be with self as it is for you to share your power in community. balance your root with your heart and your crown.

aquarius rising/sun/moon :: 7 of disks // echinacea
this is another of those cards we don't welcome too much in a reading - but things are not quite as bad as they seem with this one. generally the 7 of disks will come up to mark a difficult period in material life. that job you went after probably won't be offered to you; your bank balance is giving you problems; you don't seem to be able to get on top of things no matter how you try; unexpected bills turn up, causing you worry. if you find yourself having a real run of bad financial fortune, it's time to examine your own reactions to making a success of yourself. if you believe you'll fail, then you surely will. if you allow fears about money and security to dominate your experience, then everything will be darkened by your own expectations. remember - we have a major role in creating our own reality. if we expect detrimental things, we are inviting them into our lives. a part of the solution here is to see things from a different point of view. by affirming the constructive things that we do for ourselves in the material sphere, we will improve that area of our lives - this is true of any area. so even when things are looking very black, it's important to try to keep our fears under control, and to bear in mind that what we give out is what we get back. the 7 of disks will always indicate tension connected to our material life, whether fleeting or long term. this can be that you have all the tools you need to succeed but have not been putting in your best effort to get the results you seek.
this is another card where it is important to carefully assess what else comes up nearby in order to work out how serious the influence is. where our own inner fears are causing our problems, we must be prepared to take charge. as with so many of the tarot cards, the resolution of problems indicated by this card lies in our own hands. once again, we are reminded that we get back what we put out - so we must re-examine our personal attitudes about finances, material success, and security when this card comes up. much of the "labor" to be done is certainly around restructuring the discipline we have in working. if it appears to mark a time where we are in financial difficulties, we must first look at what we're REALLY thinking. it's hard to surrender the worry and fear that comes with being in a stagnant place. it's hard to let go of the survival fears that inevitably arise when you're going through a tight patch. so the struggles you go through in giving up those negative thoughts, the attention you must pay to your every waking concern in order to make sure you send affirming thoughts into the Universe, these will cost you a lot in terms of self-discipline and determination. it's this effort that will be rewarded by an increase in funds, or a lucky break. try it and see.
if nothing else, focus on securing your physical health so that you can be at your best when demands arise. echinacea is an immune boosting ally which will aid in this endeavor. just carrying echinacea during trying times is said to boost inner strength. it can also be sprinkled around the home or placed in your wallet to attract prosperity. as an immune boosting plant, making an infusion of echinacea with red clover blossoms, dandelion leaves, and nettle leaves will work wonders for strengthening these defensive physical spaces. it works best as preventative measure, so you do not have to wait until you are feeling ill to drink this concoction. echinacea's magick not only aids in physical protection but also increases one's own capacity to attract wealth through ensuring health.
pisces rising/sun/moon :: (4) the emperor // horehound
big things happening for you, pisces. the emperor is a strong signature for your more fluid aspects, one that lends its energy to help ground your vivid imagination into the realm where things can be more readily manifest. all those visions you've been conjuring for years - it's time to do something with them. when we become the emperor, we have begun to take hold of our power. we are more prepared to protect and defend the vulnerable. most importantly, we are more ready to share with others what we have learned and gained up until now. a perfect affirmation for the emperor is, "i trust and depend on my own power" - this is a vibration with which you are ready to work as overwhelming as the responsibility of such may seem. this IS a card that indicates responsibility, a sense of commitment, protection, and strong leadership. when our affairs are being directed by the emperor, we need to engage all our energies in order to take dynamic steps forward in life. this is a day which offers us terrific opportunities to forge ahead in important areas. spiritually, we can often make big realizations, and receive clear divine guidance which resolves difficult or troublesome issues. so if your spirit is troubled by ethical issues, use this day to offer up these problems to the high powers, and await omens or directive signs. remember also, that there's a special type of strength in the air. so, if you are feeling vulnerable or frail, reach out for the power of the emperor's influence, and be renewed.
something else to keep in mind right now is important, yet difficult, decisions may need to be made. the emperor is strong with unwavering judgment - his perception is sharp and clear though some may view it as harsh. the emperor is this way for good reason - he seeks to exact confidence and control and become a master in all his ways. this is the energetic upgrade that is occurring within you. there is benefit to structure and logic taking reign over emotions and desires of the lower spheres. when you feel unsure in your direction, the emperor shows up, almost as a guiding father force, to impart the wisdom necessary to continue forth with assertiveness. it seems you have certainly taken time to honor your spiritual growth or something is inciting you to do so in one way or another. if you think you've grown, then maybe you have to go deeper into your roots and set stronger foundations for the work that is ahead of you. this is ALLL about progress. don't get too stuck in your logical self, but know that logic can lead you to spirit and intuition by raising the awareness of what is evident and tangibly perceivable. horehound is medicine for mental clarity.
used in our The Emperor tarot tincture, horehound is useful for indigestion, bloating, and digestive discomforts. it is part of the mint family which is also an aid in lung and respiratory conditions. it destroys intestinal parasites and further enhances receptivity for a stronger sense of direction. this is by way of it clearing the mind and strengthening mental powers. working with horehound, both logic and intuition are fortified. the emperor is an archetype that knows how to navigate multiple realms with the power of his lucid mind.
